Mid-rebuild, the Camp Nou is reopening in stages: 62,652 seats licensed since March 2026, with a target of 104,600 covered seats by late 2027 – early 2028.
The Camp Nou, opened in 1957 and today the largest stadium in Europe, has been under reconstruction since 2023 as part of the Espai Barça project (around €1.5 billion). The club has returned in stages: the licence granted on 10 March 2026 allows 62,652 spectators, and a further increase is planned for autumn 2026 with the opening of the VIP tiers.
When finished, the Spotify Camp Nou is to hold 104,600 fully covered seats, with an underground car park, a museum and a pedestrian boulevard.
Installing the roof (48,000 m²) is the trickiest part: it is due to start in the summer of 2027 and will force Barça to leave the stadium again for the 2027-2028 season, according to the plans released by the club. Full completion is announced for late 2027 – early 2028; some media outlets suggest it could slip into 2028.
The Camp Nou is the second candidate for the 2030 final (around a 30% chance according to StadiumDB’s estimate in March 2026). FIFA has not decided.
Metro line 3 (Les Corts, Palau Reial, Maria Cristina) or line 5 (Collblanc, Badal). Single ticket €2.90 (2026 fare); Hola Barcelona 48-hour card €18.70, airport metro included.

Real Madrid’s ground, fully modernised (retractable roof, retractable pitch), is the Spanish front-runner to host the 2030 final.
Atlético’s 70,692-seat stadium has already hosted a Champions League final (2019). Its participation in 2030 has been described as “in doubt” by the Spanish press.
Espanyol’s ground in Cornellà (40,500 seats) is the smallest Spanish venue; its proximity to the Camp Nou and its borderline capacity keep the doubts alive.
