Rabat

Rabat, the administrative capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site, has had a completely rebuilt Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium since September 2025. The tram, the Al Boraq and Rabat-Salé airport make it a practical base between Casablanca and Tangier.

Getting there

Al Boraq: Casablanca in about 50 min, Tangier in 1 h 20 min (Rabat-Agdal station). Rabat-Salé airport is 10 km away (taxi 150 to 200 dirhams).

Getting around

Tram lines 1 and 2: flat fare of 7 dirhams (10 dirhams for tram + bus), running from about 6am to 11pm. Stadium: tram to Madinat Al Irfane then a taxi, or a petit taxi straight there for 30 to 50 dirhams (15 min).

• Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V — The unfinished 12th-century minaret and the royal mausoleum.
• Kasbah of the Udayas — Blue-and-white lanes above the mouth of the Bouregreg.
• Chellah — A Marinid necropolis built on Roman ruins, storks included.
