Estadio Osvaldo Domínguez Dibb
Olimpia’s new stadium (46,000 seats, the largest in Paraguay) is to rise on the site of the old ground, now demolished; the opening is announced for 2029.
The old stadium (formerly Manuel Ferreira, renamed Osvaldo Domínguez Dibb in 2019) was demolished in late 2024 – early 2025 to make way for a new 46,000-seat ground designed by Nicole Hellmers and Diego Suárez (PATH Urban). It will overtake the Defensores del Chaco and La Nueva Olla (Cerro Porteño) and become the largest stadium in the country.
2030
Chosen by FIFA on 11 December 2024 for Paraguay’s centenary match, in preference to the Defensores del Chaco. After the demolition the site sat idle; the redesigned project was approved by Asunción city council on 29 July 2026 and work is due to resume; the cost is estimated at around $80 million, with the opening announced for 25 July 2029.
