Casablanca

The Grand Stade Hassan II is being built at Benslimane, 40 km away. A new airport terminal (2029) and a high-speed line to Marrakech (2029): Casablanca is changing scale for 2030.

Morocco’s economic capital, Casablanca is the country’s air hub (Mohammed V airport) and the starting point of the Al Boraq to Rabat and Tangier. Its World Cup stadium, the Grand Stade Hassan II, is in fact at Benslimane, some forty kilometres to the north-east.

By 2030: a new airport terminal (+20 million passengers, due in 2029, with an underground high-speed rail station), the Kénitra–Marrakech high-speed line (November 2029 targeted) and a Casablanca commuter rail network.

Getting there

Al Boraq from Tangier in 2 h 10 min (MAD 99 to 224 in second class according to seat61, 2025-2026 timetable), from Rabat in about 50 minutes. Al Atlas train to Marrakech in 2 h 30 min to 2 h 40 min (MAD 90 to 130 in second class). Flights from Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon and Paris.

Getting around

Tram (4 lines) and busway: 9 dirhams a journey with a paper ticket, 7 with a card, 50 dirhams for 24 hours. Airport to Casa-Voyageurs station by train (about 30 min, around 40 dirhams — to be checked on oncf-voyages.ma); taxi 280 to 350 dirhams.

Benslimane: road access only for now; a high-speed rail station is planned there for the World Cup.
